Student Passport & VISA

Instructions for 5769 (2008-09)

Student visas are valid for one year from the date they are issued. All students are required to obtain a student visa since some government offices in Israel require foreign students studying in Israel to have an official student visa number. An additional benefit to you is that there is no need to renew the visa in the middle of the year.
Every year we update this information according to guidelines provided by the Ministry of |nterior and the Ministry of Education. Some years we are advised to request from students to obtain a student visa from their local consulate before arrival in Israel. Our current information is that all students should enter Israel on a regular 3-month tourist visa and the Yeshiva will assist students to submit applications for a student visa in the first few weeks after arrival.
Kindly complete the Parents’ Information for Student VISA form (see Download Forms) and fax to our Israel office at +972-2-533-9101.

**Please note that application for a student visa is only relevant for students who are not Israeli citizens. IF YOU HOLD ISRAELI CITIZENSHIP (even if you also have other citizenship), then you are obligated by law to enter and leave Israel using your Israeli passport, and you do not need a visa. If there is any question about whether you may be an Israeli citizen (for example, if one or both of your parents was born in Israel or if you lived in Israel for any period of time) it is possible that you will not be able to obtain a student visa. Please contact your local Israeli consulate with details of your specific circumstances.

PLEASE REALIZE THAT IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A VALID PASSPORT AND VISA. The Yeshiva office will assist you but we respectfully request parents’ and students’ full and prompt cooperation.

Please visit this page again for any updates on this information.
